The Kansas State Fair is still eight months away, but organizers have already announced two of its big grandstand acts.
On Monday, the fair revealed that classic rock band 38 Special will perform on Thursday, Sept. 17. The group is know for hits like “Hold on Loosely” and “Caught Up in You.”
Tickets for the show go on sale at 8 a.m. on Friday at www.kansasstatefair.com. They’ll be $20 for the grandstand and $45 for the new Bud Light Party Pit, a standing-room only area that’s next to the stage. Concert tickets purchased by Aug. 15 include gate admission.
Last month, the fair announced that Darci Lynne Farmer, the 15-year-old ventriloquist who won season 12 of the NBC show “America’s Got Talent,” would perform at 3 p.m. on Sept. 20. Those tickets are already on sale and cost between $20 and $65. They’re also available at www.kansasstatefair.com and include gate admission if purchased by Aug. 15.
The fair will announce more grandstand performers as the event draws closer. Fair organizers have warned recently that third-party ticket sellers have been offering fair tickets at an increased price and that fairgoers should purchase tickets only through Etix, which can be found by linking through the fair’s website.
The 2020 Kansas State Fair is Sept. 11-20 at the fairgrounds in Hutchinson. For questions, call the Kansas State Fair office at 620-669-3600.
