‘Watch next game at home.’ Patrick Mahomes has request for ‘good luck’ Chiefs fan

A Kansas City Chiefs fan couldn’t watch anymore.

The fan, who goes by the name Big Buck Chuck on Twitter, posted a selfie video of him leaving the stadium with his Chiefs trailing the Houston Texans 24-0 late in the first quarter Sunday afternoon.

I’m out of here so we can get this second half comeback going, hopefully,” the fan, wearing a Chiefs cap and other gear, says in the video. “Can’t do it. I got to leave. It’s the only hope. It might be true. Just don’t know anymore, man.”

Sure enough, the Chiefs scored four touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 28-24 lead on the Texans in the divisional playoff game. Kansas City led 48-31 early in the third quarter and appeared poised to make the comeback. They scored touchdowns on an NFL record seven consecutive possessions.

“Chiefs really dominated after I left near the end of the first quarter,” he posted about and hour and a half later.

The Chiefs won 51-31 to advance to the AFC Championship game. They host the Tennessee Titans Sunday. By Sunday evening the fan’s video had been liked more than 2,500 times on Twitter.

Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who tied an NFL postseason record with four touchdown passes in the second quarter, had a request for the fan.

“Watch the next game at home,” Mahomes said.

Mahomes need not worry. ‘Big Buck Chuck’ promised not to be at the stadium in a post at 5:15 p.m.

“I said this would be a dominating win but unfortunately or fortunately I had to leave the stadium,” he said.
